The 'Run the World (Girls)' performer posed for photographer Thierry Le Gouès, which he then turned into a stunning black-and-white visual for the August/September issue. A quick look at the cover shows Bey with what appears to be wings expanding from her back, but on closer inspection artist Ebon Heath created typography sculptures surround the R&B singer's frame.
In the issue, set to hit newsstands on August 9, the former Destiny's Child member details the thought processes behind the stellar singles she's known for.
"I've found that with hit records the melody and lyrics come together [naturally]," Beyonce explains. "I usually know from the hook if the song is something that transcends language, race, and genre, and if it's something that affects pop culture. It's something I can visualize people singing in stadiums all over the world. But my favorite songs on my albums are usually not my singles."
Beyonce, who's been married to rap vet Jay-Z for three years, even disclosed some of her personal sentiments regarding his craft. "Jay's music is more than music. His lyrics have fathered generations," the blonde-haired beauty reveals. "All that he has overcome gives millions so much hope. There are moments when I see his lips moving and I can see lyrics floating above his head and I think, 'Wow! How did I get so lucky to be able to witness this level of genius so closely?'"
The Grammy winning artist's '4' album, which spawned songs like 'Best Thing I Never Had' and 'End of Time,' is in stores.
