Big Boi Promises to Tour Down Under After Being Arrested

Despite his recent arrest, OutKast rapper Big Boi has promised fans in New Zealand and Australia that he will still be making the trek to perform down under at the end of the month, as planned.

The Atlanta rhymer, who was arrested on Aug. 7 for possession of ecstasy, MDMA powder and Viagra pills without a prescription, confirmed in a YouTube video message that, despite a venue change, his Down Under tour with Theophilus London will still be going as promised.

"I'm here to tell y'all, New Zealand, Australia, I will be there with Theophilus London, y'all know what it is, the show goes on ... I'll see y'all in a minute," Big Boi exclaimed in the short message.

The 36-year-old MC, born Antwan Patton, was taken into custody by Miami police while exiting a cruise ship, and charged with three felony counts of possession with a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to reports. He was released on $16,000 bond, and is apparently still allowed to leave the country on tour.

After a brief period of uncertainty, and a change of venue, the 'Shutterbug' rapper will now be performing at the Powerstation in Aukland, New Zealand on Aug. 25, and then continues to play five dates across Australia, before returning to the U.S. to play the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, Wash. on Sept. 3.
