Pink and husband Carey Hart were at home watching the 2012 Billboard Music Awards and tweeting about it. In the process, they criticized Chris Brown for lip syncing ‘Turn Up the Music’ and borrowing from Pink’s 2010 American Music Awards performance of ‘Raise Your Glass’ (which included motorbikes).
But not before they incited the ire of KatyKats, who though Hart was accusing their beloved heroine Katy Perry of ripping off Pink’s 2010 Grammy performance of ‘Glitter in the Air‘ with ‘Wide Awake.’
Still, Pink gave Perry props for singing live and insists she has love for the diva. That said, we suspect a feud brewing between the Harts and Beezy. Drama!!!
Whew. It’s a lot to process, but PopCrush is breaking it down for you.
Pink tweeted: “one day if i lipsync, i hope i do it as well as him….” and one can assume she meant Brown, because, well, he did look to be lip syncing. And it is a backhanded compliment.
Hart got in on the action, posting: “m pretty sure i saw my wife did that same performance, but she was 3 months pregnant and actually sang the song.”
Fans assumed that he was talking about Perry’s performance of ‘Wide Awake,’ which she delivered while suspended in a swing. Pink did the same thing at the 2010 Grammys, while soaking wet, to boot. But that was in February 2010 and she was not pregnant at the time, since daughter Willow was born in June 2011 and Pink didn’t gestate for 16 months!
Hart cleared things up, tweeting: “I love twitter! To clarify i was talkin trash bout CB performance, 2 years ago my wife had the same set and actually sang “Raise ur Glass.”
But Hart also issued a bit of a diss to Perry, posting: “Looks like someone else’s fans got a bit wound up! Funny, that performance looked real familiar to.” Zing. That’s definitely a criticism of Perry’s perf.
Which is probably why Pink felt compelled to post: “for the record; i luv me some Katy, so y’all can jump off that run away train, k? i stand behind, always have and always will, LIVE SINGING.” So while Perry’s vocals were imperfect and she performed while suspended (like Pink once did), she still impressed because she did sing live.
We’re bracing for impact, waiting for Breezy to post a reply to Pink and Hart slamming his perf, which we all know he will.
