A representative for Amy Winehouse has dismissed reports the tragic singer was set to adopt a child in the weeks leading up to her death.
A recent article in British newspaper the Daily Mirror claimed the Rehab hit-maker had been in the process of adopting a 10-year-old girl, named Dannika Augustine, from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
The publication printed quotes from Dannika and her mother to back up the story, and the rumours were further fuelled when photos surfaced showing Winehouse walking along a beach with the young girl.
However, Winehouse's rep has denied the reports, telling TMZ.com, "It's not true... I think (Winehouse) might have met her in St. Lucia, but she was in no way about to adopt her."
The 27 year old, who spent a great deal of time on the island battling her alcohol and drug demons, was found dead at her London home on July 23rd . The cause of her demise remains a mystery after initial post mortem results proved inconclusive.
