Drake Teams With Stevie Wonder on New Album

Last week, more news regarding Drake's sophomore album collaborations began to circulate, with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne named as just two of the guests set to appear on his forthcoming release, 'Take Care.' The 24-year-old rhymer has now announced another featured singer he'll be joining forces with: the legendary Stevie Wonder.

"Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine," the Canadian native revealed backstage at the OVO Fest in Toronto on Sunday (July 31). "I'm honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business. Stevie Wonder is actually on 'Take Care.'"

The hip-hop impresario, who shared the exclusive news with MuchMusic, went on to detail how their musical relationship blossomed. "He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience," Drake stated.

Drake, whose annual OVO Fest is in its second year and featured the likes of Lil Wayne and the Weeknd, called on the 'My Cherie Amour' crooner to showcase his talents on stage Sunday. While some may think the feat was hard to manage, the Young Money rap star had no trouble getting the revered songwriter to make his presence felt. "So I hit him, asked him to come by, and with no hesitation he hit me back like, 'I will be there,'" he disclosed. "Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six. It was incredible."

Drake's sophomore album, 'Take Care,' is scheduled for an October 24 release.
