Kelly Rowland scores her highest-charting album yet this week with Here I Am. The Destiny’s Child diva’s third solo effort lands at No. 3 on the albums chart.
Propelled by the Lil Wayne-assisted smash “Motivation,” Here I Am sold 77,000 copies in its first week on the Billboard 200, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singer’s previous album, 2007’s Ms. Kelly, peaked at No. 6 with 83,000, while her 2003 solo debut Simply Deep opened at No. 12, moving 77,000 units.
Nearly two weeks after her tragic death, Amy Winehouse’s Grammy-winning LP Back to Black moves up from No. 9 to 4 with 54,000 following a full week’s worth of sales since her passing on July 23. The late songstress’ debut Frank also climbs 57-33 with 12,000.
Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, country crooner Eric Church’s third album Chief claims the No. 1 spot (145,000), Adele’s 21 slips to No. 2 (83,000), and Beyonce’s 4 drops 4-6 (41,000).
