Lil’ Kim didn’t hold back when showed up for an interview with “The Breakfast Club” on Power 105.1. The Queen Bee, who is currently playing shows across the country on her “Return of the Queen” tour, had the studio buzzing about her beef with Nicki Minaj, relationship with Scott Storch (“I would have married him”), claims about Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace (“She didn’t know him”), and latest scuffle with Azealia Banks. Read the heated conversation below.
On Junior M.A.F.I.A.: “A majority of them is the reason why I went to prison. I’m not gonna say all of them because there was one person who basically did what they were supposed to do. But it is what it is at this point.”
On Scott Storch: “I love Scott. I would have married him. He’s a good person. I don’t even think he knew who he was talking to when I reached out to him. He has so many horrible people around him. Scott spoiled me, he treated me like a queen, but the thing is he thought he had to do all these lavish things. We were living in Coconut Grove… And as soon as we went to Miami Beach, we started arguing and fighting and everything was horrible. Scott wanted to marry me, he gave me a huge pink diamond ring and it killed me to give it back. I was like yes, but not now. He was so upset.”
On why they broke up: “I was on my way to prison and he wanted me to move to Miami officially. I didn’t see the reason I had to move out there when I had all this going on.”
On Foxy Brown: “I don’t even know her. I don’t know who she is these days. I wouldn’t even know what her voice sounds like.”
On her relationship with Biggie: “I would never get involved deeply like that with a married man. I know he loved me to death, but it’s just not a good aura.”
On Voletta Wallace: “Big’s mom doesn’t know Biggie. And she barely knows Christopher. She used to kick him out daily. She did not care to know him or get to know him. Don’t get me wrong, he loved his mother and I’m pretty sure as a mom she loved her son, but she didn’t know him.
On Nicki Minaj: “How come when I come up at these places, they wanna ask me these questions, but they don’t wanna ask her? She has a way of trying to avoid the situation and ya’ll let her do it, but it’s OK. The last time ya’ll asked her was probably when it was very fresh. [Charlamagne] was on her album so it only made sense.
“She started releasing all these records doing her vocals the way I did my vocals. I played a record for Slim called “Automatic.” It’s a St. Tropez, dance type of record. Three years ago I played him this record. On her new album, she has a song called “Automatic” and the song is so similar to the song that I played for Slim.
“Whether my fans would have liked that sound or not, it was my sound. I brought that sound to the table. The problem with her is she was very catty with it. I never had a problem with her. I was always nice with her—always. She was a very obnoxious person, but I was always nice with her.
“Every single record she’s made was coming at me. Everybody who knows music knows in that Puffy record ["Hello Good Morning"] she was coming at me. I didn’t say nothing about this chick at the time. She was coming at me in all the records she was doing, the Jay and Kanye West ["Monster"].
“I’m not saying she’s a horrible artist, but I definitely think she’s overrated. She’s not a horrible artist to me at all.”
On putting an end to their feud: “It’s not gonna happen… You will see. Everything in the dark comes to the light.”
On Azealia Banks: “I never met this girl a day in my life. I never talked to this chick, she don’t know what I sound like. I don’t know what she sound like on the phone. I think it’s in chicks’ contracts when they come out, you gotta go at Lil’ Kim.”
